May 9, 2014. That fateful day when MyRan Online was embraced by the online gaming community. The server was hosted by Episode 9, managed by Admin Dave.
The game started humbly; laying low in top 20 ranks of the private server lists. The community slowly grew, from a mere 50 players to an average of 400 active in three months.
MyRan Online was a rising star. And beside us were MyRan’s loyal players and exceptionally active GMs.
The server was a total success; attracting all the different kinds of players and becoming an icon of jealousy for other game developers.
Like an unstoppable bullet, it didn’t slow down for anything. The server was going for the top spot. Even during a twisty DDoS Attack, destiny was on our side. Everything was going well. Praise God.
At one point, the MyRan Online Episode 9 transfered to another client, changing its trading name to MyRan Online Old School as an answer to the public’s demand. We have to admit, it wasn’t an easy shift. The new client crashed every few hours, caused character rollbacks, rage and frustration to our dear players and most especially to its game developer. It was hard enough trying to process donates when the internet connection was acting up.
Little did we know that an evil, so unimaginable and inhumane, was waiting for MyRan just around the corner.
November 9, 2014 – exactly 6 months after its birth, MyRan’s database was hacked. All characters deleted. It was a pain to look at. I don’t even have the guts to look into the seriousness of the issue.
Unacceptable. I don’t know even know how to break the tragic news to the players.
MyRan Online was never a business. Yes, money was involved, but only as a tool for starting up.
This game was a product of passion. For without passion, there would be no MyRan. Without passion, there would be no in-game special events hosted day and night. Without passion, there would be no fixing and patient answering to player dilemmas.
All I meant to say is that I love this game so much. It was a good game. A very good one.
But we will not stop there. We will not let anyone ruin our Passion. For Passion is what we do. And Passion means Dedication to what we do.
MyRAN Online Will be back Strong and Better than Before. We will never stop giving you the 100% Balanced Gameplay.
