PRIEST DECLARES CFC COMMUNITY AS ELITIST GROUP

A rather appalling story was heard within the walls of a parish church in our city.

In a homily, a priest would expound on the gospel for the day. In doing so, he would tell stories, examples and explanations that would be relatable to the present generation.
There is this particular Parish Priest, however, who was a bit too specific with his story.  His words were more or less like this:
Naay niduol sa akoa na isa ka youth, para mananghid na mugamit sa isa ka chapel.  Niingon ko, ngano? Mag-unsa mo?   The youth answered,  Naay youth activity para mag-evangelize og mga youth.
The Parish Priest ended the story, saying:   Kanang mga Couples for Christ, Singles, Youth; mura mog mga korek! Mga elitist! Karon pa man ko kita sa inyo. Wala gyud moy presence dire sa simbahan.

The Parish Priest didn’t allow the said youth evangelization  activity in his chapel. (homily for 1st mass)
The Parish Priest told the same story on another mass that I attended a few weeks later (homily for 2nd mass).
In another mass (homily for 3rd mass), the priest told the same story about the youth incident. But this time with a new detail:     Handmaids of the Lord, a group  of women who are also part of the CFC community, had asked for his permission to use the chapel.  Again, the priest declined.  He talked about how the ministry lacked something in them.  It didn’t have the Eucharist and Mary.  The priest continued questioning the CFC ministry, comparing it to another religion, Protestants, that didn’t venerate in Mary.

In the same homily, he gave another example:   His lay ministers were asking for another seminar for the new lay ministers.

SHUT UP! the priest emphatically said. Nganong mag-seminar naman sad? Mag-serve lang man mo og daghan ang tao! Pero kung normal days, wala! Walay commitment! Quantity pero walay Quality!

He ended the day’s homily talking about the core of all teaching: LOVE.  The love of Christ which should be present in all of us.

Well, I am a YFC.  I knew about Christ even more since I joined the CFC community when I was still a kid (Kids for Christ).  I grew with the community until I moved on to being a YFC.  One thing is for sure: the CFC believes in Jesus Christ and the CFC prays the Rosary.

I know a lot of members of the CFC community who attends mass in the parish church where that particular Parish Priest also resides.  I also know that a lot of people who are in the mass who are not CFC members.  They were all there together to hear the homily.
While I understand his role of reminding the people about our Christian duties to the Church, I do not understand why he had to single out the CFC community repeatedly.
I know of other Priests who are close to the CFC.  They certainly do not think about the CFC the way that Parish Priest does.
